Its nickname in the garden was “Perfect Blue Red.” The registration states the color as primary red with a blue-black velvet pile and chartreuse throat. The form is full and widespread. The petals are over three and a half inches wide and the sepals are over two inches. The throat is a small, yellow-to-green and the looping ruffles have a whitish pencil edge. Strongly recurrent scapes with 3-way branching. Pollen is very powerful.
