These giant beauties evoke royal Javanese or Balinese batiks with their intricately patterned watermark eyezones. Perhaps they resemble lyre patterned butterfly watermarks upon Scalamandre silk damask. The self-color is orchid and a violet watermark, displays a variable, flying dove or lyre pattern. Transitory, contrasting shades of lavender, orchid, and faint apricot/peach colours flow within the pattern. The throat is yellow-to-green. The edge mimics the watermark eye, repeating the pattern in violet and purple, outlined in platinum tooth filigree. The form is narrow and flat. This has it all and does it all. Bring a chair when you visit this daylily. You will want to linger. Best of all, it is extremely fertile both ways. Very special and very limited. $250.00.
