Shakespeare writes, “Those do not love that do not show their love” and for David’s sister Valerie, this daylily is for you. It is one of David’s finest reds - wish fulfillment after 35 years of breeding award winning, red daylilies. The color is an intense orange-to- primary-red self with a lighter, chevron patterned, watermark halo glowing like an inner fire. Its tiny throat is yellow-to-green. The ruffled edges are looping, pleated and tiny, with a yellow wire edge on all segments. The scapes are magnificent with 4-6 branches (in KY!) and 33 or more buds. Very fertile. Limited.
