We are honored to present one of AHS’s foremost ambassador’s namesake. Mary Baker’s service to AHS and Region One is a blueprint for all daylily lovers to emulate. Her flower is an intensely saturated, truly red self with a small green throat. The form is full and displays heavily ruffled edges edged in wire gold. Its texture is satiny, its substance quite heavy. Recurring scapes are a little shorter in KY than in FL, where it gave 35 buds and 6-way branching. In 2011 in Kentucky, Mary Baker bloomed constantly from mid-June through November, and is very fertile and an excellent parent.
